Coming soon - time to move on

Well, I reckon I might be in for a life change soon. Am contemplating resigning from my job.

Yes, the money is good and does wonderful things to reduce the mortgage but I am just finding it too hard to do justice to my primary role - aka being mummified to little fella - and doing a 4 day week (and a 5 day workload) in the corporate world. Plus - he was sicker than your average bear for 5 months this year and when a little one if sick - he needs his mummy even more.

On the downside there will be more - ie cleaning up of his vomit, wiping his snotty nose and, my personal favourite (not), convincing him to take his ventolin when he gets a chest infection and cannot breathe properly.

On the upside - I will get to practice my goofy dances with him as we watch "the Wiggles" on TV (a kids show here), I will also play chasey up and down the hall with him while giggling madly. And he is already cognisant of the dangers of when I become the scary "kissing" mummy (run kiddo or you'll get covered in kisses all over your little face - again).

A pretty good deal really. I'll keep you updated on progress.

SAHM? What's that? I'm not aware much of mother lingo. Or whateve that is.

Schnubel - A SAHM is a stay at home mum (or mom if you are from the United States). I may still try to work a little bit somewhere but it won't be at the current intensity.

The Wiggles are the anti-christ. They are on my "list" and I only caught a brief moment of their act. I miss Bear in the Big Blue House. Even Sesame Street concerns me a bit - Burt and Ernie are a little bit too chummy for my tastes.

We were lucky, Mrs. Phos was able to be around for the kids. I think it made a big difference in how they turned out. We made do.

I remember giggling thru The Wiggles (no - seriously!). And my son had to deal with the Tickle Monster (still does, actually!). But you're right - nothing tops those kisses!

I have the wiggles in a duffle bag in my trunk - want 'em?

Hi PK,

Not blogging because I am trying to extricate myself from my current job in the next month with grace and dignity while ensuring I don't leave too much work for other members of the team when I go. Hence, working hard.
All is well here other than that. Little fella is good - getting cheekier by the second and even catching the odd glimpse of hubby when he is not studying or working. Life is pretty good really. Do you think Seb has found a date yet ? Or has he finally posted something new...

Hi Mummy! Haven’t been to Seb's site since he gave me a yellow card, no worries. Hope your job extrication goes well, and where do I sign up for all those kisses I read about? I don’t run very fast anymore... Mrs. Phos probably wouldn’t buy off on that anyway!

Mummy, I'm aghast at how much I've missed, and especially re the little fella.

Sorry to hear you and hubby and the wee one were suffering but glad to hear he's much better.

RE the job, I send you vast waves of support and encouragement in extricating yourself without fuss and muss and, more importantly, that you and your family remain healthy, happy and safe.

As a side tidbit, one of my friends is a pediatrician who just had her third baby... she has decided to be a SAHM as well, at least till this youngest starts school.

Best of luck, Mummy.

Odd, how one blogger shows up, the next disappears - crappy software, that has to be the answer...
