Pink is the new black

Ok - let me explain. Pink is the new black. No, this is not a fashion statement.
Mummified has been watching the zeitgeist - tricky little sucker that it is - and has decided that it is time for a change. Inside rather than outside. For too long we have been surrounded by traditional media banging on to women about what to wear, how to wear it, why you are a hopeless loser if you don't etc etc...
ENOUGH already. Black is not the new black, brown is not the new black and navy can just go get a life. Trying to be good is the new black. Trying to lead a decent life and be respectful of other people is the new black. Not vilifying folk because they are different, wear a headscarf, have a different view, is the new black.
I am sick to death of hearing "hate" bandied about - in the papers, on the radio, on TV. As an omnipotent mummified (remember, I got crowned in my last post), I decree that we should all be more tolerant of others and try to find what we have in common rather than judging each other so harshly. Here endeth the lesson.

Her Royal Highess Mummified The Pink has spoken. We shall be having cherry soda and twinkies for tea. Rose coloured glasses for every one.

Oh Queen Pink.

if only wishing
could make it true
I'd wishup a lovely pink
world for you.

I'd take my (newly acquired) scepter and wave it like a magic wand...

Begone Red Queen
no more "off with their heads"
Mummified's in charge now
be still. go to bed.

Bravo and Here Here ... to Mummified and Fairscape both! Well said ... well said indeed.

What about a new puce? I'd just as soon women wore nothing so I have never banged on them, so to speak. I have been unkind to arabs, however.

Puce - such an unpleasant name for a colour. Think pink gone purple but not quite morone. Dreadful really. Fairscape, it is giving me a great deal of pleasure to see how much use you are getting out of the recycled crown jewels - I really should lend them out more often. And eternally curious - thank you for visiting - enjoy.

I drowned out the media fashion harpies long ago. Just like the voices in my head.

Ah yes, puce, mauve, taupe, colors only found in gay pride parades. Whatever happened to Indian Red?

Very well said, Mummy. A masterpiece of philanthropy. If you weren't already taken, I'd bag you for my own.

Sorry to disappoint, Mummy, but I'm not only fashion-challenged, I also loathe pink. Gack!

However, I agree with your other sentiments.

Golly, what a wonderful bunch of comments. Thank you all. I would just like to clear up one issue. While I view the world in this post with rose coloured glasses I do not like pink per se. I do not own anything pink. I steer clear of pink altogether except when buying presents for friends' girly kiddie-winks. Just so we are crystal clear on this highly important point. BTW T&B - sorry my choice of colour caused you to gack it sounds painful. tee hee

Dearest Mummy, once again we are agreed. Pink... blech! lol.

No worries on the gacking. It was merely a bit of hairball, a la kitty cats, lol.

Blogger has it in for me because not only did I have a devilish hard time connecting with your blog yesterday (the page would show up blank), but several posts I left at various blogs would be verified as posted (I saw them with my own 2 beady eyes!), then when I checked again early this morning, they were gone!

T&B. Blogger certainly seems to be giving you a hell of a time. So sorry to hear it. Not good. not good at all. BTW - little fella (LF) now sitting at my feet playing happily with his truck while I write. Lately he has a fascination with wheels and lights. We have to stop at each car as we walk along out street and admire the wheels and the indicator light on the side (if there is one). I thing I have bred a future engineer !

Excellent news, Mummy! Glad to hear he's a little better and taking an interest in his truck and car wheel/lights. :-)

Yes, Blogger certainly dislikes me. Perhaps it's trying to tell me something... :-S

Odd, I like wheels and headlights too - especially when the high beams are on...
